Who Is            ?

      It all started on a used car lot in 1999, looking for the first car I would pay for myself. I asked the salesman for "anything that looks sporty, with a manual transmission". He said, "Well, we only have one." To which I responded, "Thankfully, I only want one." That's when I was introduced to a Dark Gray, 1997 Saturn SC1. She quickly became my first "baby". I still remember the moment I fell in love with her, sitting beside her on a curb - watching the sunset through the curves of her driver door panel. I washed her at least once a week, and detailed her myself every three to five weeks, like clockwork.

      As a businessman, my dad taught me a strong work ethic. That, combined with integrity, also taught me to take pride in my work. This work ethic moved me into management at nearly every nine-to-five I would work. I realized the problems I had at those nine-to-five's came from teaching entrepreneurial principles to the team. For this, "The Man" thanked me by treating me as replaceable. To which I responded by moving on, in hopes of a different outcome in a new environment. My Dad said, "If you want to do things your way, you must start your own business."

      “My way” was to operate in integrity, with a passion for excellence, while creating opportunities for people. Then I wanted to empower them to grow and follow their dreams. So in May of 2016 I fired the nine-to-five life. And started a business that offered mobile detailing services, exactly the way I would take care of my own “baby”.  At that time I had my Sunburst Pearl Orange, 2013 Honda Civic SI that I had put 144,000 miles on, from brand new. I kept it looking pristine, doing the detailing myself. I loaded the trunk with supplies and did my very first detailing job. Which happened to be right next door to the nine-to-five I JUST fired.

      I soon found out about a car meet (eight days away), where I could network with those who shared my love for cars. But I didn’t have my business set up yet. At that moment I had very little money, no business name, no logo or tagline. Only a dream and a strong desire to make it happen. But I definitely needed a business card designed, and quickly!

​

      I spent the day at my Grandpa's computer researching designs and pictures, while reaching out to friends/family searching for inspiration. At one point my Grandpa, a retired physician, came into the office with a childlike excitement, "I GOT IT!” He said, “Have an officer throwing a bad guy onto a car and say, 'We'll get the SCUM OUT!' "

      A prescription pad laying on his desk (in front of me) caught my eye and I thought, "We could be the scum prescription! Not only to clean the scum out of vehicles, but also to be a business who exemplifies excellence through high standards and ethics. A business that would strive to support good people, without sacrificing others or our integrity for “the mighty dollar”. And thus, the name "ScumRx" was born.

​

      From there I started building a team of great people who shared these same ethics and hard work. The goal is to build ScumRx to be a platform to help others share with the world their own passion, talents and pride in their work. By helping and serving people instead of money, ScumRx has thrived and grown. Because of this growth, along with adaptation to client feedback, ScumRx has evolved rapidly over the years. Growth and change are things, those who work with ScumRx, have come to expect.

      When we launched the 2022 year, starting our 7th year, we made our most significant changes. We became more than JUST ScumRx | Mobile Detailing. We became ScumRx | Mobile Detail and Tint. Expanding our Mobile Detailing services as well as adding other vehicle services. Offering: Ceramic Coating, Paint Correction, Window Tint, Windshield Replacement, Glass Chip Repair and more. And we’ll continue to expand these services. All of our services are performed by professionals, bringing everything we need for the serivce, right at your doorstep. (As long as the owner and space allows.)
